Healthy moms, healthy babies, one bite at a time.

We are expert online fertility, prenatal, and postnatal dietitian nutritionists who can provide you and your family with dietary coaching. With the right nutrition plan, you can optimize fertility, improve symptoms of PCOS, manage gestational diabetes, make informed dietary decisions for your maternity experience, reduce risks during childbirth, support quicker healing after birth, and improve energy levels postpartum.

What you eat before, during, and after pregnancy matters. By implementing individualized meal plans, having access to your nutrition coach (online or face-to-face), and receiving science-backed information, you will be healthier while pregnant and long after.

We believe:

  • The right nutrition plan can lay the foundation for natural fertility.
  • Women should be heard, and PCOS symptoms can improve with diet and meal plans, reducing inflammation and optimizing fertility.
  • Prenatal (even preconception) nourishment is the basis for a lifetime of health.
  • Everybody deserves the right to access reliable, evidence-based information and science-backed dietary advice to give their baby a headstart on a healthy life.
  • Your food choices, with guidance from a maternity dietary coach, can help reduce the risks of complications during pregnancy and labor.
  • Working with a certified prenatal nutritionist can help alleviate nausea, skin problems, swelling, low energy levels, and other common side effects women experience when pregnant.
  • An individualized diet can support postnatal healing, increase breastfeeding success, reduce baby blues and postpartum depression, and improve energy levels after birth.
  • Health begins before birth, and prenatal dietary interventions can make a big difference in your, and your baby’s lives.
  • Access to nutrition coaching with expert dietitians shouldn’t be difficult, so we provide online nutrition therapy to meet all our patients’ needs.

About Us — PCOS, Fertility, Prenatal, Gestational Diabetes and Postnatal Nutrition Specialists

We are board-certified Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. Erin Skinner also has a certification in integrative and functional nutrition therapy. We are passionate about women’s and family health. We believe health and wellness begin with prenatal (even preconception) food choices. An expert maternity dietary coach can empower you to make the best choices to nourish you (and developing baby) while you’re pregnant and after giving birth.

    • As professional dietitian nutritionists, and working women (many of us parents ourselves), we understand the meaning of time, and how important it is to create diet plans for women who need something quick, easy, nutritious, and economical. Our online nutritionist counseling option — a safe, convenient telehealth platform — is ideal for women on the go.

    • We listen. Often, women suffer in silence or aren’t diagnosed for years when they have PCOS or other autoimmune disorders. With individualized anti-inflammation diets, with science-backed dietary advice, we can help improve symptoms of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and reduce inflammation.

    • We work to help women manage their blood sugar levels with an easy-to-implement diet plan when diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

    • We understand the importance of women’s health, the link between diet and fertility, hormone health, conception, pregnancy health, breastfeeding, gestational diabetes, and postpartum healing. We provide individualized nutrition plans for women and mothers to keep their energy up when they’re giving their all.

    • We are experienced clinicians and recognized wellness leaders. We spend our professional lives as registered dietitian nutritionists to improve women’s health status — fertility, prenatal and postpartum experiences — as well as support their developing baby’s needs through individualized dietary interventions.

And we can’t wait to be part of your journey.

Address nutrition needs preconception, during pregnancy, and after birth.

There is so much information to sift through on the web, at the bookstore, and in magazines. Add what we like to call the “opinion-meter” — infinite opinions and advice from family members, friends, and that “well-meaning stranger” on the street who are all experts while you’re pregnant — everything can get muddled and confusing.

How can you best prepare your body for a healthy pregnancy? (Including partners!) With virtual therapy or face-to-face counseling with a pregnancy dietitian nutritionist at our clinic, a maternity dietary coach will empower you with the tools you need to:

    • Know which foods support healthy baby development, trimester by trimester.

    • Identify and modify unhealthy dietary patterns.

    • Implement diet plans to reduce inflammation and improve symptoms of PCOS and other autoimmune disorders.

Prenatal Nutrition Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of women to help them reach their nutrition goals for fertility, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and postpartum healing. Here are some of the most common questions we receive:

What is a pregnancy nutritionist?

A pregnancy nutritionist, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), is a dedicated healthcare specialist focused on developing individualized diet plans for expectant mothers so they can meet their nutrient needs, maintain a healthy diet when battling with common pregnancy symptoms (like food aversions, morning sickness, and cravings), and managing any health complications during pregnancy (gestational diabetes, high blood pressure etc.).

Can a dietitian help with pregnancy?

Dietitians assume a pivotal role in the journey of pregnancy, offering expert guidance and crafting personalized nutrition plans to safeguard the well-being of both the expectant mother and her developing baby. This crucial partnership is a cornerstone in addressing the distinct nutritional requirements and challenges that arise at every stage of a woman’s pregnancy, including pre-conception and the postpartum period.

Why is nutrition important during pregnancy?

The choices a pregnant woman makes when it comes to her diet have profound and far-reaching impacts, influencing critical factors like fetal growth, organ development, and the physical and cognitive health of her baby. A healthy diet plan with key nutrients not only supports the development of a mother-to-be’s baby but also reduces the risk of complications during pregnancy (like gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and preterm labor) and labor. Nutrition also has a direct link to academic success in a child’s later years. Every bite counts.

What is the best nutrition for a pregnant woman?

Five key nutrients take center stage in ensuring a healthy pregnancy:

  • Folate: This B vitamin is essential for early fetal development and helps prevent neural tube defects. You can find folate in leafy greens, citrus fruits, and fortified grains.
  • Iron: Iron is vital for the production of red blood cells and the prevention of anemia in both mother and baby. Good sources of iron include lean meats, beans, and fortified cereals.
  • Calcium: Calcium is crucial for the development of the baby’s bones and teeth. Dairy products, fortified plant-based milk, and leafy greens are excellent sources.
  • Protein: Protein supports the growth of your baby’s tissues and helps your body cope with the changes of pregnancy. Include lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, and tofu in your diet.
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Omega-3s aid in the development of the baby’s brain and eyes. You can find them in fatty fish like salmon, walnuts, and flaxseeds.

Should I see a nutritionist while pregnant?

Women’s unique dietary needs during pregnancy can be both confusing and overwhelming. A certified nutritionist (RDN) can help you sift through the deluge of information and provide you with science-backed nutrition counseling to improve your health status, help you maintain a healthy weight, prepare for breastfeeding, and manage uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms.

What is the role of a dietitian in pregnancy?

We will individualize dietary interventions to support you and your developing baby’s health while you’re pregnant and after giving birth. We will empower you to make the best nutrition choices and provide you with diet plans that adapt to your preferences, cultural needs, and medical needs. Our job is to make sure you and your growing baby are getting a nutrient-rich diet.

You’ll be paired with one of the expert nutrition therapists and maternity dietitian nutritionists on our team, to help you reach your goals.

Testimonials

Fertility, Prenatal, and Postnatal Nutrition Consultation Packages and Plans

During a woman’s gestational period — from fertility through breastfeeding and postpartum healing, a woman’s nutritional needs are incredibly unique (as are her developing baby’s needs). Whether you’re struggling with managing symptoms of PCOS, are experiencing bloating and nausea while pregnant, need a maternity nutritionist coach to help you better nourish yourself, have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, or are needing extra support to improve healing in that postnatal period, we find that a minimum of three sessions are typically needed for optimal results. That said, because of the body’s changing needs from preconception to postpartum, we offer an array of discounted services, which include access to meal plans, follow-up appointments, and more. We will customize the session spacing for your needs, but the typical spacing is 2 – 3 weeks between sessions. We provide our patients with the option to access expert online prenatal nutritionist dietitians with a secure telehealth platform. Sessions must be used within 6 months.
